Cybersecurity & Digital Health Training
for Health Science Professionals

As Canada accelerates the commercialization and adoption of digital technologies into the fast-growing health science industry, there is a critical need to create high-value technology jobs and support the development of talent in the technology workforce.

OBIO® is proud to partner with Upskill Canada [powered by Palette Skills] and the Government of Canada to deliver the Cybersecurity & Digital Health Training for Health Science Professionals. The program will focus on the critical intersection of software development and cybersecurity, particularly in the context of health products and medical devices. It will cover regulatory aspects as outlined in Health Canada’s guidance for software as a medical device, addressing data compliance, and secure data management throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Emphasis will be placed on the importance of cybersecurity in healthcare, examining the latest trends, potential threats, and their impact on the industry. It will explore secure software development practices, cloud infrastructure security, data governance in the era of cyber threats, and the integration of blockchain for enhanced security. Additionally, the curriculum will include a comprehensive overview of Electronic Health Records (EHR), access controls, and why cybersecurity is vital in healthcare.
