About the Workshop:
The Women in Health Initiative (WiHI) is dedicated to empowering women with the skills and tools necessary to flourish in the health science industry. This one-day, in person training is tailored to introduce key financial concepts and practices with a special focus on their applications in the Life Sciences and health technology sector.
Workshop Highlights:
Intro to Finance: Understand financial literacy, ROI, accounting basics, and financial statements.
Finance in the Healthcare Industry: Learn about risks and returns, taxes, SR&ED and audit processes.
Budgeting & Financial Forecasting: Create and manage a budget that aligns with company goals and understand capital requirements.
Fundraising: Delve into cap tables, dilution, valuation, fundraising strategies and runway management.
Financial Tools & Software: Explore various financial tools and software to enhance financial management skills.

Who Should Apply?
This workshop is ideal for people who:
Identify as a woman.
Reside in Ontario and are legally eligible to work in Canada.
Have completed post-secondary education and are not currently enrolled as a full-time student.
Have a STEM background and are interested in the health science industry.
